I hope you'll plan to join us for a fun evening of...

-- Wine, Food & Art --

at the newly opened 'Gallery C' in Hermosa Beach
Saturday, November 1, 6:30-10:30PM

A large new art gallery, Gallery C, recently opened in Hermosa, where the Bijou Theater used to be.  We've booked the gallery for a private event on the evening of Saturday, Nov 1st.  The plan is to use the gallery as a backdrop for a stylish evening of socializing and enjoying good food and wine!

Gallery C has a large, pleasant interior, and they're exhibiting well-regarded artists.  The new show that will be open while we're there, titled Drunken Masters, features four artists all of whom have been shown extensively at top museums both in the U.S. and abroad.

We'll enjoy a wide variety of aspiring gourmet food that evening!  Among the contributing cooks will be Lisa Barber, Margy Sperry, Patti Burke, Debbie Doupe, Carol Erikson, Monika Campbell and moi.  Some of the dishes that will be served include:

  • Snowcrab Wontons w/ Plum Sauce
  • East Meets West Sushi Wraps
  • Baked Gruyere Walnut Wafers
  • Curry Chicken Salad in Wonton Cups
  • Endive Boats w/ Smoked Salmon
  • Polenta Crostini w/ Sun-Dried Tomatoes
  • Tuna Tartare Crostini
  • Mediterranean Tapenade on Baguette Croutes
  • Pumpkin Chiffon Pie w/ Gingersnap Pecan Crust
  • ...and a few more!

And of course, the real purpose for a gallery event...we'll be serving a variety of rather good wines, including ones from:

  • Grgich Hills

  • Frog's Leap

  • Justin

  • Franciscan

  • De Loach

  • Rodney Strong

  • Markham

An assortment of beer, cider and lemonade will also be available

The cost of the evening is $37 if received in advance (to help us plan the appropriate amount of food and drink), or $47 at the door.  (Note: checks only that evening; no cash.)  This will cover all of your food and drinks, as well as renting the gallery.  To sign up, send me a check.  I'll send a confirmation prior to the event letting you know your check arrived.

Feel free to invite friends along...the more the merrier!
I expect this will be a rather fun evening of mingling and consumption amid the art!
