Please join us as BPC's Wine and the Word fellowship goes

Wine Tasting In
Santa Barbara Wine Country

Saturday, July 14

We will leave the Westside around 8:00 Saturday morning.  We'll visit five wineries, including having a picnic lunch delivered to us at one of the prettier wineries.  That evening, we'll have dinner at The Hitching Post, the restaurant featured in the movie Sideways.  We'll spend the night in the elegant Buellton Days Inn (optional), and return the following morning.

We'll start the day at Beckman Vineyards at 11:00 a.m.
Beckman is a small Santa Ynez winery best known for
their fine Syrahs but also producing other varietals.

From Beckman, we will be tasting and having a leisurely lunch at a brand new winery, Roblar Winery.  They also operate a cooking school, which will be providing our picnic lunch.

After that we'll enjoy one of my favorite tasting experiences, both for their wines and the setting, Gainey Vineyard.

We'll finish the day over toward our hotel at Foley Winery, which has good wines, pleasant shopping and a nice lawn area outside.

We have rooms reserved at the Buellton Days Inn for Saturday evening.  This is centrally located and pleasant enough for the price.  You are welcome to find other lodging, though this is one of the few places which accepts one-night bookings on the weekend.

We have a dinner reservation at the Hitching Post restaurant.  The following morning, everyone will be on your own to do whatever you'd like up there and come back whenever you want.  Unfortunately, the church vans are being used that weekend, so we'll have to drive ourselves up there.

The cost of the trip is $205, including the tasting fees at the five wineries, lunch and a private room.  If you don't need a room, you can just pay the remaining $65.  Couples and anyone else willing to share a bed will pay $270 for the two of you ($205+$65).

I think this is going to be a really fun excursion!  I hope you can join us!
