Camping in Big Sur

Labor Day Weekend
Friday-Monday, September 2-5

As you probably know, the coastline at Big Sur is among the most spectacular in California.  We'll be enjoying the views on our hikes and sunset dinner, as well as the drive there.

We'll do a couple hikes over the weekend that afford great views of the coast.  And we'll relax for our traditional Saturday sunset dinner picnic at a great vantage point overlooking the ocean.  We'll once again do champagne hors d'oeuvres to begin our Sunday dinner.

We have a great group campsite reserved along the Big Sur River in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park.  It's a large, shady site where noise won't be much of a problem (from other campers or our own!)  It's across the river from the main campground, but we'll still be able to use their hot showers!  There are restrooms with flush toilets at the campsite.

The weather at this time is typically quite pleasant...warm days and mild nights.

As usual, kids beyond the crying in the night stage are welcome, and we anticipate a few joining us.  There are cabins nearby which may still be available, if that's easier for families with young ones.  To avoid possible nuisances in the campsite, will you please make alternative plans for any pets...thanks!

The cost of the trip is $60 per person, which will cover the campsite fee, our firewood and common supplies, and all of the wine and beer for the weekend.  (Yes, the expenses really do add up to that!)  I'll take sign-ups based on when I receive your check, and will close sign-ups no later than Saturday, August 20, in order to send out the meal assignments.

To sign up, please send your check to me.  (As usual, this will be non-refundable if you get a date or an audition that weekend!)  Each person will be asked to help provide one meal, and will be served by the group for the rest of the meals on the trip, Friday dinner through Monday breakfast, including lunches.  (Kids are included in paying the $60 but get to ride free on the meal assignments.)

Let me know if you have any questions about the weekend.

This is pretty country, and I imagine we'll have
our usual fun time.  I hope you can join us!
