Hume Lake is one of the prettiest lakes in the Sierras. We'll be camping near the lake, and enjoying a hike around the lake as well as a lakeshore sunset dinner. There are rental kayaks available on the lake that we can take out.

We'll also do a mild hike up Buena Vista Peak, the top of which has a great 360-degree view shown below.

We have a large group campsite reserved that is well away from any other campsite, and should be quite peaceful. Tenmile Creek flows into Lake Hume just a short walk from our campsite.

There are hot showers a short drive from our campsite. The weather there at Labor Day is typically sunny with highs around 75-80.

Everyone will be asked to help with one of the meals for the group, including shopping, prep and clean-up. You'll be served meals by others for the rest of the weekend, Friday dinner through Monday breakfast. (Feel free to let me know if you have a preference for breakfast, lunch or dinner.)

Feel free to invite friends along. Kids are welcome. Thanks for making other arrangements for any pets that weekend.

The cost of the trip will be $60 per adult and $30 per kid (along with the food for the meal you prepare). This will cover our campsite fee, all of our common supplies, firewood and all of the group's wine and beer for the weekend.

To sign up, please send me your payment to arrive by Sunday, Aug. 20. (Unfortunately this payment will have to be non-refundable if you cancel later.)

You can pay via PayPal by going to: PayPal
